How to Implement Digital Assessment in Schools?

Speaker Bio: 

Mr. Cheng Pat-Leung, Victor is the Executive Director of Hong Kong Education City (HKEdCity). He manages the largest education portal in Hong Kong, with primary role in promoting and supporting eLearning for all secondary and primary schools in Hong Kong. HKEdCity pioneered a number of eLearning initiatives including e-book infrastructure, e-Assessment platform, Single Sign-On for education and WiFi service model for schools (WaaSchool). HKEdCity organizes the Learning and Teaching Expo every year which attracted more than 13,000 participants to attend and is the largest education expo in this region.

 

Prior to joining HKEdCity, Mr. Cheng has been the Director of Corporate Services of Hong Kong Examinations and Assessments Authority and the Director of IT Services of Hong Kong Institute of Education. He also served in many Government committees and advisory committees of universities.

 

Mr. Cheng holds a Master of Science Degree in Electronic Engineering and a Master of Business Administration Degree with Distinction.

Abstract: 

Digital assessment has been one of the pillars in the eLearning strategies of many countries due to its ability to provide instant feedbacks and diagnosis. Digital assessment can be an effective tool to help schools to understand more about students’ learning and how to improve their outcomes. Successful implementation of digital assessment in schools requires careful planning and preparation. This presentation will cover the important elements in implementing digital assessment in schools, including infrastructure, software tools, assessment platforms and their relationship with digital books and learning management systems. International trends in using different digital assessment tools by teachers for creating and conducting digital assessment will also be covered.
